As a service to our community, The Hughston Foundation is dedicated to educating athletes, coaches, and parents regarding the prevention and treatment of sports injuries and providing on-site care for injured athletes at sporting events at all levels of competition. We have a long tradition of helping the athlete prepare for competition, being a presence on the sidelines of the Friday night game, offering Saturday morning injury clinics, and sponsoring educational seminars for coaches and parents.

The Hughston Foundation also has a long history of community involvement and partnerships with area organizations that have a strong impact on our community. These organizations often hold their annual meetings and planning sessions at our facilities, host events on our campus, and we often assist them with many of their community projects. These organizations include:
American Cancer Association, American Heart Association, Arthritis Foundation, Chattahoochee Council Boy Scouts of America, and The United Way.

The Hughston Orthopedic Hospital presents a bimonthly, community education program, “Hughston Healthy Lifestyles Education Series” that is held at the Foundation. Recently, Fred Flandry, MD, presented how computer technology is being used in the OR to assist in orthopaedic surgeries and Patrick Fernicola, MD, presented the benefits of a new surgical technique, minimally invasive, being used for knee replacements.
