Physicians who are completing a Hughston Sports Medicine Fellowship, physicians of The Hughston Clinic, and Certified Athletic Trainers from The Hughston Athletic Training Fellowship spend a great deal of time on the sidelines of area competitions. Through a special relationship with The Columbus Sports Council, The Hughston Foundation provides care for athletes at sporting competitions and support in the planning and implementing of safety protocols and procedures at sporting events. Whether at the softball fields of South Commons, on the sidelines of the soccer fields at the Woodruff Farm Road complex, participating in the Dodge Tour de Georgia, or in events at the Columbus Civic Center, The Hughston Foundation is there providing medical coverage to area athletes and spectators.
Certified athletic trainers not only help to provide the medical coverage at special events, but they are on site daily at many local high schools. They often teach classes in health education, as well. |
