Library
With a specialized selection that grew from Dr. Hughston’s archives and personal collection, the library’s bibliotheca focuses on orthopaedic and sports medicine. Today, the set includes approximately 800 books and 95 journal titles, and a small slide-talk collection. Additionally, The Jack C. Hughston, MD, Collection of rare books and memorabilia is a wonderful complement to The Hughston Foundation Library.
A full-time librarian answers reference questions by telephone, mail, and e-mail from all over the country and provides assistance to patrons who visit the library daily. Reference, bibliographic, and research services are available, as well as online searching and interlibrary loan. Additionally, the library tracks the publications of our physicians and the staff associated with the Hughston campus in an electronic authors’ database. The library is a member of the Medical Library Association, Georgia Interactive Network for Medical Information (GaIN), Georgia Health Sciences Library Association (GHSLA), Health Science Libraries of Central Georgia (HSLCG), and the Columbus Area Library Association (CALA).
