Museum
Housed within the library, The Hughston Foundation Museum displays samples of completed projects created by the Foundation. The museum displays are excellent examples of how the Foundation departments work together to complete a project. The displays show the advantages of having a unique, professional staff who begin with research and then convert the knowledge into a written product with illustrations, who then transform the pieces into a finished product. The completed project could be a DVD to train physicians, a patient-education newsletter, an article published in a scientific journal, or a PowerPoint presentation a physician uses to present his research.
Photographs and awards document Dr. Hughston’s years of dedication to training and education in orthopaedics and sports medicine. Photographs of Hughston Society members, the fellows, and physicians at work in clinic and in the research lab adorn the collection. The museum is packed full of awards bestowed upon Dr. Hughston from his years of devotion to the medical community. The American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery are just a few of the national organizations who have honored Dr. Hughston.
