The Videography Department has produced more than 740 instructional videotapes and
interactive DVDs and it maintains a resource library of more than 4,500 hours of surgical footage. Programs produced by the department are recognized worldwide as an educational tool for physicians, the community, and patients alike. The Videography Department is proud of its audiovisual achievements and contributions to the programs of the America
n Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Since the department opened in 1982, it has earned over twenty “Academy Awards” for groundbreaking programs in orthopaedics and sports medicine. The department has brought home two such awards in the past four years, and one Selection from the Academy.
In addition, the department provides full audiovisual support for Foundation interests and
activities. The department houses a fully lighted studio, a five-camera fiberoptic integrated
television system linked to the four “OR’s of the Future” at the Hughston Orthopedic Hospital,
and three nonlinear editing suites, and it has DVD-authoring capabilities.
